Record Numbers, Parliamentary Recognition & A Visit from Our MP

It's been a landmark few weeks for Slice Of Life, and we couldn't be more proud of everything this project continues to achieve for young people across our community.

Last Friday saw something truly special — a record-breaking 90 young people came through our doors, the highest attendance we've ever recorded. It’s a powerful reminder of just how much our young people value having a safe, welcoming space to come together. From the laughter to the conversations to the connections being made, moments like these are exactly why Slice Of Life exists.

But the good news doesn't stop there.

We were recently delighted to welcome local MP Anna Dixon, who came down in person to see the project in action. Anna spent time with our young people, spoke with our volunteers, and witnessed first-hand the difference the project is making. It was a brilliant opportunity to show those in power what grassroots community work really looks like — and the impact it has on real lives.

We're thrilled to share that Anna Dixon has even spoken about Slice Of Life in Parliament, raising the project's work in front of her fellow MPs. To have our community youth provision recognised at a national level is an incredible moment for everyone involved — our team, our volunteers, and most importantly, our young people.

Slice Of Life continues to go from strength to strength. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our amazing volunteers, the support of the community, and of course, the young people who show up week after week and make it all worthwhile.

Here's to many more record-breaking Fridays. 🧡
