Cloud with Silver Lining

Sunshine & Showers

A six week course will be led by Rev. Cameron on Zoom on Tuesday evenings at 7pm. Sunshine & Showers is a course about the paradoxes of prayer. We shall explore: prayer as friendship; when prayer is hard; healing and prayer.

Theme Preaching-Justice Seeking

June| 

Our Circuit

As a circuit we're exploring what it means to be justice-seeking using Connexional resources for 'A Justice-seeking Church.'

 

Starting on Sunday 26th May and running throughout June, there'll be theme preaching throughout the Circuit. Look out for the six justice prayers we'll be using over these six weeks highlighting justice principles. We will celebrate stories of countering injustice and challenge ourselves to be justice-seeking in all that we do.

Wander & Ponder

St Peter's Church Field, Addingham

Walking often gives us time and space to pinder big questions surrounded by God's awe-inpsiting creation. 

Join us at St. Peter's Church field, Addingham on Saturday 22nd June, 10:30am. Bring a notebook and pen to ournal your experience if you'd like.

We will wanderthe field as a group, stopping at point to reflcect. Afterwards you're welcme to stay linger and gather in the church for coffee, bisuits and conversations. If it's raining, join our indoor virtual walk in the church hall.

Festival Book Sale

You may remember that last year Wendy and Phil Kershaw ran a very successful book sale during Burley festival. They're planning to do the same again this year, hurray!

 

So they have asked that people start saving and collecting books in advance of the sale . 

Gardening

Spring has sprung, the grass is riz and the church gardening group will start to meet again on April 4th, from 10am to 11am. New graderners always welcome, to help to keep our lovely garden in order.

Comforting Hands

Burley Bereavement Group

Multiple Dates | 2pm - 4pm

Parish Centre

Burley Bereavement Group meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Parish Centre and is due to start on March 14th from 2-4pm. The group is run by Jo Onions a grief counsellor from www.reset-counselling.co.uk.

 

It is an opportunity to speak, share and support each other in a safe and welcoming environment. Jo will be on hand to provide support and guidance whenever needed. 

I would also like to remind church members that the Wellbeing Hub meets every wednesday at the scout and guide hut from 10-12 and is supported by Nikki, the counselling coordinator from Grange Park Surgery and members of Listening Ear. Here you can speak and share in a confidential and welcoming space.

Burley Methodist Church

A collection for PAFRAS takes place on the first Thursday of every month. For you to donate food and other items. The next date will be on Thursday, July 4th. There will be a collection at the front of church, but inside if the weather is poor.

Dance Lesson

Seated Zumba

Every Wednesday | 11:15am - 12:15pm

Queens Hall, Burley in Wharfedale

Join our new seated Zumba class. Great for people experiencing challenges with mobility or balance as the whole class takes place in a chair. No dance experience is needed and there are no wrong moves. Wear comfy clothes you can easily move in and bring some water. Call 01535 677177 to book your place.
